A log book service is a comprehensive check of your vehicle as per the recommendations of the car manufacturer. It includes the scheduled replacement of oils and filters and system checks.

Why do I need a log book service?

Log book services are generally required to keep within the terms of manufacturers new car warranty. They also ensure all components of your vehicle are thoroughly inspected when required.

What happens if I miss a Service?

That's OK. If you miss a service Border Mechanical can combine the service you missed and the service you're due for, all into one.

Do you have Loan cars and how much do they cost?

Yes, we have a loan car and it is free. As the demand for loan cars is quite high, you will need to enquire if one is available when making your booking.

Will I lose my New Car Warranty if I don't go back to the dealer?

No - definitely not. As long as you complete all log book services at any qualified mechanical workshop and the parts used are to the manufacturers specifications, you will not lose your new car warranty Border Mechanical is fully qualified to service new vehicles. I have lost my Log Book, do I need it?

Yes. You will need your log book for proof of servicing and/or repairs. If you have lost your log book we can arrange a replacement for you.

Do you provide Digital reports for the work you have done? or a digital report of what's wrong with my car?

If you would prefer an emailed copy of your invoice please ask reception. This will give you a detailed report of our findings.

How long will the service take?

Depending on what is required for your particular service the time to perform them will vary.

How much will my service cost?

Service costs will vary depending on what type of vehicle it is and what work is involved.

How can I pay for my Service?

Border Mechanical accepts cash payments and has eftpos facilities.

When are you Open?

Our Goondiwindi workshop is open Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm. We are closed on weekends.

What is the earliest time I can bring my car in?

If you need to bring your car in earlier, arrangements can made.

Can I collect my car after hours?

Yes - this can be arranged. Please advise when making a booking

Can you drop me home when I deliver my car for servicing or repair?

Yes, providing drop offs are within our trading hours.

What happens if something is not right after my car service?

We take great pride in our work, please let us know ASAP if you have any concerns. You have the added assurance of our REPCO Nationwide Warranty if you find yourself out of town.

Will you give me reminders when my next sercive is due?

Yes. We recoded the date of next service and kms on a windscreen sticker.

Can my car be serviced at the same time it is repaired?

Ye we can service your car at the same time if it is our workshop being repaired. Just let us know.

How do I book in a Service?

Call us, drop in to our Goondiwindi workshop or make a booking through our websites online booking service

How often should I really service my car?

This depends on the make and model of your car and what the manufacturer recommends. Generally we like to service vehicles every 10,000km's or every 6 month interval.

I don't drive much, do I still need a service?

Yes - even if you don't wind up the kilometres a general check over is recommended every 6 months

Can you fix other things while my car is being serviced?

Yes, if during your service we discover issues, we will notify you and if authorised we will do the repair.

What type of oils and parts do you use?

We use Penrite oil and the highest quality parts (genuine & OEM)

Do you check my brakes during a service?

Yes. Checking brakes are a part of our service for every vehicle serviced.
